Here's some observations I made over the weekend:
- Leaves on the trees are either yellow, orange or non-existent
- The smell of burning leaves in the air
- Pumpkins, gourds and Halloween blow-up decorations in people yards
- Halloween candy lining the aisles in grocery, discount and drug stores
- Storm windows covering window and door screens resulting in the absence of fresh air filling the house
- Christmas merchandise and decorations creeping into store displays
- Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts going door-to-door taking orders for Christmas wreaths
- Snow shovels, windshield de-icer and sno-melt displayed prominently in Hardware stores
- The "honking" of geese overhead as they fly South for the Winter
- Frost on the grass when you wake up in the morning
Hello Winter.....it's time to find the snow brush and scraper and put it in the back seat of my car.
Hmm...I think it's time to hibernate...See you next Spring.......
Wednesday, Nov 9th and and I here there's 8" of snow heading for Central Wisconsin. That'll confirm that summer is really over. Bill
