I just saw a news alert that Andy Griffith passed away.

In my eyes, he was a tv icon....I grew up watching the Andy Griffith Show and Mayberry RFD.  To this day, I continue to watch Matlock reruns - even though I've seen them all several times.  To me, he was a great actor and from things I have read about him, a great person.  It was always refreshing to see how good won out over evil in the Matlock episodes, or how bad situations somehow were never as bad as they seemed or proved to be "teaching moments" as well as entertaining in the Andy Griffith Show and Mayberry RFD. It's a sad day, but I'm sure he is in a better place. 

Rest in Peace Sheriff Andy...you will be fondly remembered.
